For actually hear the AM broadcast in stereo you need a special radio with an AM STEREO decoder chip. The Motorola C-QUAM (Compatible Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) system used by all AM stations which choose to broadcast in stereo today and MC13028 is one of chips to decode the AM stereo transmission.
